EATON'S BUSH CEMETERY
Eatonville, Town of Herkimer, Herkimer County

This cemetery list is a composite of two lists made by Marilyn Allis. "The list comes from the Little Falls Historical Society. We actually went to the cemetery ourselves on June 28-29, 1998 and verified family headstones. The cemetery is located in Eatonville on Hwy 169, northwest of Little Falls & northeast of Herkimer. I don't know who compiled the list. It's in an interesting format - by last name and then apparently the tombstone (or at least the info on it) is copied. Somebody has included some notations on it. My added comments to the list provided are bracketed { }."

Note: Marilyn's family in this cemetery are: John Eaton (saw there was no Rev. war marker next to the grave), Mary Eaton, Elisha Eaton, Sally, Polly Eaton, Watee, "Laura", and James.

This composite cemetery and notes were made by Marilyn Allis. This past spring Marilyn prepared the Fairview Cemetery, town of Salisbury. Marilyn's husband's family resided in Herkimer County in the early 1800s, being primarily located in Salisbury and Little Falls. Presently she is researching the families of direct line ancestors Allen W. and Catherine Stebbins Eaton, whose obituaries Marilyn also contributed to the site. All of their children were born in Little Falls:

"Catherine STEBBINS (sister of Dr. William Burrell Stebbins) b. 20 Jul 1818, Salisbury, d. 28 Feb 1899, Oxford ID

Allen Wyman EATON (brother of Volney Eaton who married Alida Herkimer) b. 5 Aug 1817, Little Falls, d. 4 Feb 1900, Oxford ID

Apparently Mr. Eaton was publisher of the Mohawk (N.Y.) Courier from 1856-1861. I appreciate any help you can give me. Marilyn Allis"   Email: mjrallis@mindspring.com
