I Ebenezer Thayer of Winfield County of Herkimer and State of New York being weak in body but of perfect sound mind and memory considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound mind and mem and memory Blessed be Almighty God for the same do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in maner and form following that is to say first I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Lois Thayer all my real and personal estate being and lying in the town of Winfield and when my beloved wife has done with it or thinks proper to be divided among our children give and bequeath unto Polly Murdock one hundred dollars the remainder of my Estate I give and bequeath unto Daniel Shuger Sally Burgess and Abigail Chaffee or their children to be equally divided between the three above named I further will if my beloved wife and Alford Burgess should sell the above property if they think best and when my beloved wife has done with it to divide the money accordingly I hereby appoint my beloved wife and Alford Burgess my executrix and executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the first day of March in the Year of our Lord One Thousand eight hundred and forty one – Ebenezer Thayer (seal) Signed sealed published an declared by above named Ebenezer Thayer to be his last will and testiment in the presence of us who have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses in presence of the Testator Oliver Griffin |
