"The first name given to Minott Road was "The Bush" named by the Germans who settled by the Mohawk River. After Howard Haywood Minott settled in the Bush, the road was renamed after him Minott Rd., in East Schuyler in 1797. He
and Martha were married in Putney, Vermont. After their first child was born they moved to this area. They had 11 other children once they moved to East Schuyler."
"Richard L. Caldwell's great-great grandfather James Mead Caldwell (Colwell) married Lousia Minott . Her parents were James Minott and Nancy Sheaf. I know more about the Minotts right now but I am still trying to find James Caldwell's parent. He was born in NY. " Bette Jo (Hall) Caldwell

The initial reading was made by Mr. L.S. Abrams of Rome, NY, who gave no location other than that Sterling Cemetery was in East Schuyler. Another reading by an unknown person in the 1930s says that the cemetery was located "just north of the Mohawk turnpike (Herkimer Rd.) near Sterling Creek". Variations in readings are marked by a *.

From: Janet Hutchins Mon 19 Jan
1998
Hi! In looking through your site, I encountered one of my ancestors in the
listing for the Ladd Farm Cemetery in Schuyler. The listing has him as
"Levins Hutchins" and his wife as "Bertha Hutchins". My
records have his name as Leavens Hutchins, son of Benjamin Hutchins and Judith
Leavens; he was born in Killingly, CT on January 8, 1748/49. His wife was
Perthenia Sabin (Bertha is a little cozier, isn't it), born December 14, 1738 in
Windsor, MA. He served in the Revolution with a western Mass. regiment. His son
Roswell (my ancestor) was born in Hancock, MA in 1782, and moved to Michigan in
1839. I'm afraid that I don't have any information about their life in Schuyler,
and why they are buried where they are. Janet Hutchins, Burlington, MA.
The Tallman Farm Cemetery was located "back of barns on the road to North Gage from Short Lots Road". The reading was made by Mr. L.S. Abrams of Rome, NY.
