WHEELEREphraim Joseph--wmfrye
WHEELERfamilyMy Wheeler ancestors moved from Salisbury, MA to Newbury, MA and on to Rehoboth, MA and then to the Berkshires. They then moved to New York State about 1800 and settled in Ontario, Oneida and Cayuga counties primarily. However, they married into the Sawyer family that had also emigrated from Newbury to Adams, MA in the Berkshires to Western and Whitesboro in Oneida County. One of the Sawyer sons, a Justus Sawyer, moved to Salisbury, Herkimer, NY, probably in the early 1820s. He was born in 1803 in Adams and resided in Salisbury before moving on to LeRoy in Genesee County. He married there in 1828, Louisa Ganson and they eventually moved to Western, Oneida County.

If there are any readers interested in the Wheeler history, I go back thirteen generations to 1540 in Salisbury, England and am happy to share.
