A SMALL COLLECTION OF SCHELL ITEMS |
 |
If ever a popularity contest was held for early Mohawk Valley families, the Schells would surely be strong contenders. The family crest to the left was provided courtesy of Margaret Hornsby and Mae Reiner (who contributed the crest to Maggie). Among the most-read family profiles on the site are the group of articles about John Christian Schell and John Schell contributed by Carol Marston. Recently we reviewed two large sites created by Schell descendants and recommend Maggie Rose Hornsby's Canadian descendants of the SCHELL and HILTS Families andVicki Sue Kohr's SCHELL Family History site. Both sites havemany items and links of interest to Schell, Canadian and Mohawk Valley researchers, too extensive to list here.

Recently Betsy Voorhees took a drive down Schell Road to take these snaps for us. "The Schell Bush Road is in the town
of Herkimer. From Route 5 heading east in Herkimer, take a left onto Route 28 and it is down about a mile the second street on left."

We'd like to add other small Schell family items to this page, such as
photos, wills, deeds. If you have a small item that you'd like to share with other researchers, please contact
the site coordinator.
