THE FOLLOWING IS A TRANSCRIPTION OF THE AUGUST 14, 1882 MEETING MINUTES

          Minutes of a special meeting of the
          Borough Council of Aug 14th 1882.

          Letters read from Remington Agricultural Works and one from Mr. Howe, patentee, offering the Fire Engine now on trial for six hundred dollars - they to give us any improvements - and take back ............within 1 year - moved by Meyers, 2nd by Smith that the Borough accept the proposition of the Remington Agricultural Works - as contained in their letters - and that an order be drawn in favor of Remington Agricultural Works, Ilion, N. Y. for Six hundred Dollars - to pay for the Fire Engine - Carried

          Moved by Smith 2nd by Coleman that the Borough purchae 400 ft of hose - Carried

          Moved by Worden 2nd by Smith ... of the Johnson Hose Co. will take charge of the Hose Carriage & Hose, and Engine, that it be placed in their hands - Carried
