SEELY CONOVER

Recognition for Volunteering

Seely Conover, former Ilion resident, was a well-known member of Ilion's Remington Rand Band. His son Marv (site contributor and volunteer from way, way back), asked if we'd like to post an honor Seely recently received. Definitely! Seely's friends and former co-workers back in Ilion will enjoy knowing that he continues to go out there and play a mean trumpet. Check out Seely and Marv's photo essay about the Remington Rand Band in 1937.

"My dad recently received some recognition for his service in behalf of RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) over the last 20 years. The items he received include: a letter of thank you from our local state senator Tom Libous along with a certificate. His service is the fact he has played his horn for many, many senior citizen events over the years. Plus volunteering for several other projects."
