Pioneer Cole Family

Philip and Mary Cole, and perhaps all of their seven children (Lucy, Philenda, Mary, Anna, Olive, Philip Jr., and Ezra) moved from Litchfield, Herkimer County to LeRay, Jefferson County, in February 1804. Prior to Herkimer they had lived in Wells, Rutland County, Vermont from 1793 to 1796, and prior to Wells, in Berkshire County, Massachusetts (Windsor and Williamstown) and that is where all seven children were born. The Cole Family remained in Jefferson County from 1804 until 1842, then moved to what is now London, Ontario, Canada, stayed 7 years, then on to Wisconsin, then to Minnesota, and finally, in 1900, homesteaded in Vegreville, Alberta, Canada where the family has remained ever since.

Our family website gives an overview complete with family tree regarding our branch of the Cole Family and our family's travels from MA to VT to NY to Canada to WI to MN and then to Canada again.
