Headstone of Revolutionary War Patriot Paul CrimAt Paul Crim Burying GroundJordanville, NYContributed by Beverly Crim. This is the headstone of Paul Crim at the Paul Crim Burying Ground in Jordanville, NY. It is on the site of the little settlement of Andrustown that was attacked three times in the second half of the 1700's. Paul Crim came from Germany and is believed to be a relative (not direct descendant) of the Grimm Brothers who wrote Fairy Tales. My husband, Stephen Crim, is the eighth generation of Crims in the United States. My children are the ninth generation. I would love to hear any and all stories about Andrustown. I know many and many are conflicting. I'm hoping to put together some semblance of the true story in the future. Would also love to hear from relatives. There is an annual ceremony sponsored by the Henderson DAR that takes place on the Sunday nearest the 18th of July to commemorate the Andrustown Massacre of 1778. The Lepper Family relatives have gotten together and had a reunion of sorts and now regularly attend and and are the largest represented family at the memorial service. I'd love to see lots of CRIM relatives there next year! The ceremony takes place at the Hoyer Hill Cemetery, which overlooks the valley and the nearby hill, where the flag flies high over the Crim Cemetery.
